WHY HAVE A NAMING OR WELCOMING?
Where a Christening or Baptism is about a baby's relationship with a God, a welcoming ceremony is about the new adult/child/pet's relationship to their family and the wider community.
A naming ceremony is a chance for new parents to present their little ones and formally announce the name they've chosen for them.
Both are beautiful, fun and deeply personal events that aim to strengthen the bonds of everyone there, leaving everyone feeling really connected and special.
You can include music, performance, promises, rituals or, well... anything you'd like!

Then it's over to me! I take every detail I've learned about what you want from the day and transform it into a ceremony to remember.

STEP 1: GETTING TO KNOW YOUR STORY
A great ceremony starts with getting to know everything about your family or group.
So step one is a planning meeting - a few hours (over drinks or food??) where I ask all the right questions to get your story in all its glory.
Whoever or whatever you're welcoming in, it's important that the ceremony feels completely bespoke and personal.
When the day comes, my job is to provide you and your guests with a safe, kind and confident pair of hands.
I'll deliver the approved ceremony script (that's a given!) but I'll also liaise with the venue before the ceremony to make sure we have everything we need.
